This is the complete sculpture with adjusted vent holes marked for placement.
This is the sculpture with vent holes. You can see where the mask edges have been roughly extended.
Here is the sculpture with the silicon applied to make the negative mold.
This is the test plaster pour with wooden skewers in place to give the mold air vents to the vent holes for better detail capture.
The plaster master mold ready for vac forming.
The first vac formed test pull. I was happy with the overall size but the vent holes were slightly too large.
Adjustments made on the vent holes.
This is the picture that gives me real hope of achieving a realistic part 3 size mask. This is a picture of a fright stuff mask next to one of my test pulls. The fright stuff mask which is a great reproduction of the original mask lacks the size of the screen seen part 3 mask. My test pull shows real promise.
I am at the moment in the stages of sculpting a finer detailed mold. One thing i learnt during the vac forming process is that while still using .040 plastic i need to exaggerate the details on the master mold for them to transfer on to a pull. This is test mold and masks were a success to me personally showing it is possible to make a mold a vac forming table and produce my own mask...but i want this to look as good as possible so will go back to the drawing board and get the vent hole placement, eye shape and fine details added to hopefully achieve my aim of a realistic part 3 mask.
More pictures soon...
Yeah, what is the dimensions of a part 3 mask anyways ? I figured someone who produces these things would know that much especially frightstuff should know the mask is supposed to be 10 & 7/16ths long or so I've found and yeah I've seen your you-tube video about vacumm forming a part 8 Jason mask, Do you happen to sell any molded blanks without any work done to them and is there any possibility I could buy one from you, Would you consider that ? I just like to have one for myself to be honest....Thank You Sir ! Good day and your works phonemanal by the way.
